Feeding Time Baby Shower Games

If you talk to a mother for any length of time be prepared to hear about her child’s feeding habits or lack thereof. For some undecipherable reason perfectly sane women become food obsessed mothers as soon as they birth their first child. To be fair to them, feeding times can be severely trying if the baby decides he or she doesn’t want to be fed. Here are some great baby shower games that will help the mother to be take feeding times with a pinch of salt.

Feeding Time Baby Shower Game #1: Spoon Fed Baby

You will need bibs, jars of baby food and a baby spoon with each jar. Ask all your guests to pair up. If you are having a couple baby shower this game is perfect and makes things easier. Just have the couples play together. Give each pair a bib, a jar of baby food and a baby spoon. One of the two has to play the baby and the other the mother. The objective of the game is to finish the jar of baby food as fast as possible using only the baby spoon. The ‘baby’ must wear the bib and any spills automatically disqualify the pair. The game gets really hilarious and provides great Kodak moments.

If you want to make the game tougher, ask the ‘mother’ to use only her mouth to hold the spoon and no hands! Of course, spills become inevitable so you may want to change the rules a bit. Also this version works better with couples.

Feeding Time Baby Shower Game #2: Food List

This is a fun game and a great way for the mother to be to get ideas on what to feed the baby after it arrives. Pick a phrase or combine the names of the parents so you have 8-10 words. The phrase could be something like– “Thank you for coming to the baby shower today!” or “What foods are healthy, nutritious and wholesome for an infant?” Ask each guest to list as many baby foods as they can by using letters from the phrase or the parents to be names. Mothers have an advantage over non-mothers so watch out.

Feeding Time Baby Shower Game #3: Categories

Make a list of categories related to food. Some examples are:

  1. Baby foods that are orange in color.
  2. Baby foods beginning with the letter D.
  3. Baby foods rich in calcium.
  4. Baby foods that can be stored in the freezer.
  5. Baby foods that smell great.

Give each guest a paper and a pen and give them 1 minute per category to write down as many baby foods as they can. You’ll be amazed at what some mothers and especially non-mothers consider as baby food!
